From Re Work: When you play music, the quality of the melody that comes out depends largely on how skilled you are. It doesn’t matter if you have the best guitar in the world, your music cannot be as good as that by a top guitarist.

If you’re not doing some good work, don’t blame your tools. Instead, try to get the best out of what you have in your disposal.

You don’t need GPUs or state-of-the-art deep learning models to solve most of existing business problems.

What you need is a deep understanding of your business. What matter to your customers? What are the business processes and where are problems? Then select the model and framework that is most right for the problem.

Of course, there are times when your tools really need upgrade, e.g. when they supercharge your productivity.

So, old or new tools are not the essence to solving problems. Your skill in using them is.
